The gang hit the road early on the first day on the bikes. It was foggy in the morning so we stopped for a long breakfast as we waited for the fog to wear off. As the fog wore off, we road through Arthurs pass, took the scenic view loop, stopped in Greymouth and continued on. Chief started feeling something strange with his bike and after a bit we figured out that it had a bad rear wheel bearing. We continued on for a while but eventually felt it was no longer safe to ride. So we left the bike in Hari Hari and continued on to the house in Franz Josef. A new BMW F850GS was delivered later that night.
